I had been dating Stephanie for about six months and things were progressing slowly. We had planned to go out to eat one night and then go out to either a movie or dancing. After the meal was over, we walked to her car and I noticed that the wind was picking up a little bit. I couldn’t remember if I had tied down my Cessna 310 or not (at Allegheny County Airport [AGC] – Pittsburgh, PA) and I asked if we could swing by the plane. During the drive to AGC Steph asked me about the plane. Whose was it? Why am I worried about it? Basically questions similiar to that were asked. We finally got to the plane and Stephanie confessed that she had never been up in a private plane. I had my general and commercial license and asked if she wanted to go up. She just beamed and said yes. I checked the local weather forecast and we took off a little after twilight. Pittsburgh looked exceedingly beautiful that night. But; the most beautiful sights were in the cockpit of the airplane and not outside. After about a half hour of flying we were level at 7500 AGL and Steph was really relaxed. After talking to the controllers at PIT for local clearance, I switched on the autopilot. I determined what Steph wanted and we both headed to the back of of the cockpit. All I can say is that the whole love making experience was FANTASTIC. We continued to date, and we rejoined the Mile High Club many more times during that year. We parted later, as good friends, as she went out of state to college and I went the other way into the United States Air Force.
