Four Aces

In April 1976, I moved to Las Vegas and took a job with Lockheed Avionics. One of my co-workers owned a Cessna 182 and offered to let me rent it. We became good friends and he also introduced me to a small casino on the strip called the “Jolly Trolley.” The casino employed strippers to work behind the blackjack tables to distract the players and we became friendly with a couple of these beautiful young ladies. I won’t mention any names, my girl went on to a career with Dick Clark. As we got to know each other, the girls found out we flew and that my friend had an airplane. This led to suggestions we take them flying some day. I told them if they wanted a real thrill, they should join the MHC. I was only joking, but a week later, my lady told me she and her friend were ready to go flying the next Sunday and wanted to know the details of the MHC. When I told her she thought a minute and then said, “Okay, I’m game.” My friend and I picked the girls up at their apartment early Sunday. The weather was beautiful, warm enough for the short shorts and tops the girls were wearing. We rolled out the plane, pre- flighted and I hopped in the back with my lady. We started with a tour of Lake Mead, then out to a practice area. No mention of the MHC until we got there. Until now, all I had done was hold hands with one of the most beautiful girls in Las Vegas and there are a lot of them. She looked at me and asked, “Well, what about the MHC?” and ran her hand across the front of my trousers. I almost jumped out of my seat belt, but this was not my first rodeo so to speak. I shucked out of my pants and she did the same. My friend in the front seat couldn’t believe it either. We accomplished the initiation in record time and what a pleasure. His lady mentioned that she too wanted to be a member so back to the airport, land, change places and back to the practice area where we watched two more folks become members of this elite club. Later, we returned to their apartment where we were wined and dined, sat out by the pool between trips back to their bedrooms where we relived the events of the morning.
