Instrument Flight Plan

Victoria and I had recently renewed our relationship after almost 20 years apart. We had been invited to Ft. Meyers by some friends for a BASE jumping trip and to celebrate New Years.

We had been in the air for 45 minutes or so when I felt Vikki’s hand moving slowly up my leg. When she reached the place she wanted, it was quite clear she didn’t want to wait til’ we landed for the fun to begin.

I was glad the Mooney 201 we were in was equipped with a 2 axis autopilot. I was able to move the left seat to the full aft position and shift my feet to the right side of the floor. Flying a strange aircraft and being on an instrument flight plan, meant Vikki had her work cut out for her. However, she was up to the task and she had me ready for action in no time. She was so excited about what we were doing, we made a little bit of a mess on the seat of our rented plane. After, laying back in the seat, it took a couple of minutes before I remembered that I was the one doing the flying!

When our friends picked us up at the airport, it was very hard not to laugh outloud when our eyes met.
